Zoophilia comes from the Greek words, zôon, meaning animal and philia, meaning friendship or love. Zoophilia is defined as having a special interest or sexual attraction to animals by a human being. Such individuals are called zoophiles or bestialists. Zoophilia may also mean sexual contact between a human and non-human animal. Sexual activity may include, kissing, rubbing, masturbation, oral sex and actual vaginal and anal penetrations.

A separate term, bestiality also refers to direct sexual activity or contact between a human and non-human animals. Bestiality is more common in mainstream usage because it is also used as a pornography niche or category. A similar term, animal sex, also means sexual contact between a human and non-human animals.

[edit] Legal Status

Zoophilia or bestiality is widely illegal all over the world. It is only legal in a few countries like Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands. It is a taboo for most societies and culture around the world so it remains prohibited.
