Anus

Anus is the final portion of the rectum. It is the external opening of the rectum and it is controlled by sphincter muscles. Feces is discharged from the body through the anus during the process of defection.

The anus is considered as an erogenous zone because of the high concentration of nerve ending located in that part of the body. Anal stimulation may be done in various ways. Insertion of sex toys such as vibrator, butt plugs and anal beads may be performed. Anal-oral contact is also practiced by some people. The act of anal penetration is also a common practice. It is believed to be a homosexual practice, but a there are also heterosexual couples who engage in anal sex.

Proper technique and generous lubrication must be applied when engaging in anal sex because anal and rectal muscles are easily damaged when anal sex is not performed carefully.

Anal sex is considered as a taboo is some societies and cultures. In other jurisdictions, it is considered a crime and it is punishable by the law.
